Pompeii

Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the main attractions that brings millions of tourists to our region every year. An ancient and fascinating Roman city that was completely submerged by ash and lava during the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 AD. Today inside the archaeological site, which covers about 440,000 square metres, you can admire the forum, once the centre of the city's political and social life, squares, temples, theatres, shops, buildings and houses with their decorations, mosaics, paintings and everyday objects.

Pompeii archaeological ruins are located on a volcanic plateau on the southern slope of Vesuvius, about 30 metres above sea level and a short distance from the mouth of the river Sarno, in an evocative position, praised in Roman times even by Seneca. The lack of springs or watercourses on the plateau prevented it from being populated in the remotest times, although some settlements had formed in the nearby Sarno valley during the 8th century BC, as evidenced by numerous pit tombs. The population who founded Pompeii was certainly Oscan, but it is doubtful whether the name of the city itself derives from Greek or from Oscan.

Sorrento

We are talking about a place of colours, mysteries, legends, traditions, cuisine, culture, events and natural beauties, Sorrento has always enchanted, amazed and induced people to return, and it is a city to be lived in all 365 days of the year.

A legend by the historian Diodorus Siculus, who attributed the foundation of the city to Liparo, son of Ausone and nephew of Ulysses and the sorceress Circe, is reported about its origins. The most important places to visit in Sorrento are the characteristic old town centre with its narrow streets rich in history and craftsmanship, where you can taste the famous Limoncello, the fascinating Cloister of San Francesco d'Assisi, the venue for civil weddings, exhibitions and musical events, the imposing Romanesque cathedral, the Villa Comunale, from which you can admire the Gulf of Naples with Vesuvius in the background, and the charming village of Marina Grande, with its picturesque scenery, the restaurants overlooking the sea and the typical local cuisine.

Positano

We are talking about a little town set into the rocky cliffside overlooking the sea, it is known as the vertical town, it is full of narrow streets and houses placed one behind the other, creating a labyrinth of colours. Positano is one of the most evocative is one of the most attractive destinations for both national and international tourism thanks to its attractions, characteristic beaches, natural and architectural beauties, shopping streets and an extraordinary culinary tradition. In 1997, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
